Maintenance Officer / Groundsperson
Permanent Part Time
22.5 hrs/3 days per week (Tue-Thu preferred)
An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Maintenance Officer/Groundsperson to join the Willunga Waldorf School at the earliest opportunity.
The Maintenance Officer/Groundsperson carries out repair and maintenance requirements of the School’s facilities, including buildings, furniture and fittings and school grounds. This hands-on role reports directly to the Property Services Manager and, as part of the Buildings and Grounds Team, works to ensure the School is a safe and well-presented place.
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and motivated all-rounder who is able to work collaboratively and independently in a team environment. You are conscientious and take pride in your work. Excellent communication and organisational skills are a must, as is a commitment to the confidentiality, safety and privacy requirements of a school environment.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Good all-round maintenance / handyman skills; carpentry experience is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to the confidentiality, safety and privacy requirements of a school environment
- Must have full working rights in Australia
Applicants must hold a current “not-prohibited” SA Working with Children Check and SA driver’s license and provide/obtain RRHAN-EC and Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting certificates before commencement of employment.
