High School Specialist – English
Permanent part-time contract ~ 0.5 FTE (average) ~ commencing 27th January 2026
An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced High School English Teacher to join the Willunga Waldorf School faculty from late January 2026.
The successful applicant will be a team player with excellent communication skills, not only with young people but also with colleagues and parents. They possess a love of teaching, have a generally positive attitude and outlook, and are able to set boundaries with empathy and respect for students, colleagues, and the parent community.
About the role
The High School English Teacher will be responsible for implementing the English curriculum across classes 8 to 12, teaching Main Lessons as well as practice lessons. An overview of the Waldorf/Steiner curriculum is required (and will be provided if necessary), so one can see the complete picture and how one’s own subject is integrated into the whole.
Applicants should note that due to the nature of the Steiner curriculum and timetabling structures, student contact time may vary from week to week. A calculation will be made across the year to provide an average number of weekly hours, or FTE. During Main Lesson periods, you will need to be available Monday to Friday mornings.
