Secondary Teacher (Technical Studies) Fixed Term Part Time Replacement Contract

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Secondary Teacher (Technical Studies) to join the Willunga Waldorf School during Semester 2.

The successful applicant will be a team player with excellent communication skills (both with children/young person, colleagues and parents), possess a love of teaching, have a generally positive attitude and outlook, and be able to set boundaries with empathy and respect for students, colleagues and the parent community.

As a specialist subject teacher, you will take primary responsibility for your subject area across the classes you teach. This requires a good knowledge of the curriculum indications not only for that subject, but also for the broad subject areas too, particularly within the year levels taught.

Key selection criteria:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with children/young people, parents and colleagues
  • Suitable qualifications in Technical Studies at a Secondary level
  • A demonstrated ability to confidently manage and cater for different learning needs
  • Demonstrated commitment to working collegially and professionally with strong teamwork skills
  • A commitment to the principle of ongoing teacher development both professionally and personally
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, teachers, parents, staff and the wider community
  • Ability to set boundaries with empathy and respect for students, colleagues and the parent community
  • An affinity with anthroposophy and overall strong commitment to Steiner Education (desirable)

Applicants must hold a current SA Teacher’s registration, ‘not-prohibited’ Working with Children Check with the DCSI Screening Unit and RRHAN-EC training certificate.

Individual Student Support Assistant (High School) – Fixed Term Part Time

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Individual Student Support Assistant to join the Willunga Waldorf School High School Faculty at the earliest opportunity.

The successful applicant will have a genuine interest in and warmth for assisting students in a Waldorf classroom setting. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a good observer and listener, and able to follow the teacher’s methodology. With your positive outlook and general attitude, you are willing and able to find ways of meeting and supporting the individual student, meeting them exactly where they are, without trying to “fix” them.

As an Individual Student Support Assistant you will provide highly personalised one-to-one support to an individual student with additional needs and/or care requirements to help them achieve their learning goals and participate in school life.

You must be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 11.20am and 3.20pm.

Key selection criteria

  • Knowledge or an understanding of the Rudolf Steiner Curriculum
  • Experience working with adolescents
  • Experience and interest in working with students with additional learning needs and/or care requirements
  • Confident with first aid procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with young people, colleagues and parents
  • Ability to find ways of meeting an individual’s needs that work
  • Good observer and listener
  • Ability to provide respectful, personalized support while maintaining professional boundaries and not trying to “fix” the student
  • Ability to use initiative and to accept guidance and feedback
  • Excellent time management and personal organizational skills
  • Experience in working with neuro-diverse children/young people
  • Ability to adhere to the confidentiality requirements of a school environment

We are currently accepting expressions of interest for Temporary Relief Teachers – Primary Years.

Your application must include

  • CV and cover letter detailing availability dates
  • Current Teachers Registration Certificate
  • Current SA Working With Children Check
  • Current RRHAN-EC certificate
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Completed Relief Teacher Details Form

All applicants will be requested to attend one of our school tours and will be required to meet with our TRT Coordinator.

Once accepted you will be placed on our TRT Register of preferred teachers and an induction session will be provided prior to the commencement of any relief work.
